Our team
Our founding team combines 30+ years in microbial engineering, hydrogen R&D, and climate tech operations. Already piloted in 3 countries. Backed by €320K+ in R&D.
  • Elena Burdug
    Research biotechnologist
Over 10 years in environmental and industrial biotechnology with a strong focus on microbial hydrogen production. Co authored 3 peer reviewed papers and developed a prototype microbial electrochemical integration system now under validation. Elena combines deep lab expertise (CRISPR,fermentation, metagenomics) with regulatory insight and field application. She drives R&D from lab to pilot scale with precision, and her passion for real world impact makes her a key figure in our innovation journey
  • Roman Lobanov
    CEO
Former COO and Head of Business Development, Roman has led climate tech ventures across Africa and MENA. He currently rules Alperium’s expansion in Spain and Southern Europe, building on over 10 years in energy infrastructure and clean hydrogen. He has scaled teams from 5 to 42 employees, signed national contracts and reduced production costs by 24%. Thanks to his background in regulatory navigation, investor relations, and strategy, Roman leads the company with a sharp focus on scalable growth
  • Konstantin Zalesski
    CSO (chief scientific officer)
Chief Scientific Officer. 10+ years in microbial metabolic engineering. Previously he developed cutting edge bioprocesses turning waste into energy and biodegradable plastics. At Alperium, he leads the biohydrogen R&D with a deep focus on anaerobic digestion, gene editing, and lifecycle optimization. With experience scaling pilot bioreactors and integrating biosolutions into real world systems, he ensures our biotech core remains years ahead of the market
